A member of
the Ulster Farmers Union, William represents the interests of the
rural community on The Bridge Partnership. He became a member of
The Bridge Partnership because he wanted to ensure that the rural
community receives a fair distribution of available Peace II funds
and that these funds are administered wisely so that they bring
long-term benefits to the area.
William is well equipped to represent the interests of the rural
community especially farmers. Having lived and worked on a farm
all of his life, he is well known among the farming community and
is a member of many organisations affiliated to the farming sector.
These include the Dairy Farmers United Area Council and the Ulster
Farmers Union’s Milk Committee, Rural Development Committee
and Co. Down Committee. William is also well known for his personal
achievements in farming within Northern Ireland. Having been awarded
two prestigious farming accolades in recent years (‘Dairy
Farmer of the Year’ and ‘Grassland Farmer of the Year’),
William has proven his dedication and commitment to his work. He
plans to apply this same level of commitment to his work on The
Bridge Partnership.
Married with three daughters and one son, William enjoys listening
to country and western music in his spare time.
