Aim :: Develop a programme aimed at addressing the needs
of the victims sector.
Overview ::
This project was developed to provide financial resources for a
co-coordinated and strategic programme for all victims of the Troubles
within the Banbridge District and the groups and organisations which
provide support to them. This project is run in collaboration with
Armagh Local Strategy Partnership and sees both Partnerships providing
50% of the funding to run a coordinated project which spans both
District Council areas. The Trauma Advisory panel is running this
two year project which has now entered its final year. It is hoped
the project will provide resources to encourage the sector to work
together towards a more self-sustaining future.
Objectives ::
- To provide coordinated & strategic support to the victims
groups which impact on and provide services to the Banbridge District.
- To encourage co-operation and co-ordination with other agencies
and organisations in relation to the needs of all victims, and
to promote awareness of the issue of victims in public bodies
and to the general public.
Outputs ::
- Employment of a Development Worker.
- Target a minimum of 5 victims/survivors groups for training
needs analysis and tailored training programmes.
- Target a minimum of 20 individuals per year to assess needs
and provide appropriate services, support and information.
- Minimum of 2 networking opportunities to be provided per year.
- Assist in the compilation and publication of directory of services.
- Assist in the development of an information website for the
sector.
- Compilation and circulation of a twice yearly newsletter.
- Provide advice and guidance to victims/survivors groups with
regard to long term strategy development and funding opportunities.
- Facilitation of a victims/survivors workers support network.
- Provide opportunities for group social activities and intergroup
social activities for a minimum of five groups.
