01 :: Social Economy Audit
The Bridge Partnership’s Social Economy Audit Programme, which
has a budget of £30,000, aims to map and identify the extent
of the social economy sector within the Banbridge District by conducting
extensive research into this sector and identifying its needs. The
Social Economy Audit Programme needed to be completed before further
work in support of the social economy sector could commence. The
Bridge Partnership appointed Venture to deliver its Social Economy

Programme 02 :: Social Economy Capital
The Bridge Partnership’s Social Economy Capital Programme,
which has a budget of £250,000, aims to provide financial
support for the implementation of regeneration projects linked to
the social economy. These projects will involve the refurbishment
of derelict properties that will have a social and economic focus
enabling key regeneration projects to be implemented in the District.
This capital investment will allow for a lasting legacy and underpin
the long term viability of the sector. The Bridge Partnership will
receive direct applications for funding in support of social economy
capital projects.

Programme 03 :: Social Economy ICT
The Bridge Partnership’s Social Economy ICT Programme, which
has a budget of £80,000, aims to provide financial support
for facilities upgrade, improved networking and provision of equipment
and software in at least 4 areas within the Banbridge District.
It will provide access to ICT equipment for both the general public
and those operating within the social economy sector and increase
awareness of the sector through greater access to information. The
Bridge Partnership will receive direct applications for funding
in support of social economy ICT projects.

Programme 04 :: Urban Housing Estates
The Bridge Partnership’s Urban Housing Estates Programme,
which has a budget of £27,950, aims to assist urban community
groups to build capacity and instil a sense of pride in their local
communities. The Bridge Partnership will work in partnership with
the Creating Common Ground Consortium to deliver its Urban Housing
Estates Programme.

Programme 05 :: Human Resource Development
The Bridge Partnership’s Human Resource Development Programme,
which has a budget of £50,000, aims to develop an integrated
human resource development plan for the Banbridge District. It will
assist employees in a variety of sectors to develop their skills
base and employers to become more proficient in managing people,
information and activities. The Bridge Partnership has appointed
local human resource management and training company People 1st
to deliver part of its Human Resource Development Programme. Direct
applications will be received for the remainder of the Programme.

Programme 06 :: Community Development
The Bridge Partnership’s Community Development Programme,
which has a budget of £150,000, aims to develop an integrated
community infrastructure, education and communication programme
which will assist in creating a vibrant and informed community in
the Banbridge District. It will develop a long-term sustainable
strategy for local community development, establish 2 new community
groups, support 20 community group projects, target 4 areas of weak
community infrastructure, establish a Community Forum and support
the employment of a full-time community development worker. The
Bridge Partnership has appointed Banbridge Regeneration Agencies
Network (BRAN) to deliver its Community Development Programme. Sustainable

Programme 07 :: Youth
The Bridge Partnership’s Youth Programme, which has a budget
of £120,000, aims to address the needs of young people in
the Banbridge District by tackling the many issues that this group
faces in a co-ordinated way. It will provide training and one to
one mentoring support for participants and encourage the examination
of community relations issues through the establishment of several
youth led projects. The Bridge Partnership has appointed YMCA Ireland,
SELB Youth Service and YouthAction Northern Ireland to deliver its
Youth Programme under the banner of the Banbridge Youth Partnership.

Programme 08 :: Childcare
The Bridge Partnership’s Childcare Programme, which has a
budget of £120,000, aims to improve quality and service provision
within the Banbridge District’s childcare sector by assisting
several playgroups gain quality accreditation and providing training
and improve the skills base of childcare providers. The Bridge Partnership
has appointed NIPPA-The Early Years Organisation and the Upper Bann
Institute of Further and Higher Education to deliver its Childcare

Programme 09 :: Victims/Survivors
The Bridge Partnership’s Victims/Survivors Programme, which
has a budget of £60,000, aims to address the needs of the
victims sector in the Banbridge District. It will support the employment
of a development worker for a 2-year period and provide improved
service provision and appropriate support services for victims/survivors
of the ‘Troubles’. In conjunction with Armagh Local
Strategy Partnership, The Bridge Partnership has appointed the Trauma
Advisory Panel to deliver a joint Victims/Survivors Programme in
the Armagh and Banbridge Council areas to avoid duplication of work
in this sector.
