:: EU
The EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation (Peace II) is a unique
EU funding Programme for Northern Ireland and the Border Region
of Ireland. Its primary purpose is to support projects that promote
reconciliation and reinforce progress towards creating a peaceful
and stable society. Delivered and managed by the Special EU Programmes
Body, the Peace II Programme has been allocated over £456m
between 2000 and 2004 and has five main priorities which are broken
down into measures.
As an Implementing Body for the EU’s Peace II Programme,
The Bridge Partnership was awarded £1.2m under Priority 3
of the Programme known as ‘Locally-based Regeneration and
Development Strategies’. This Priority has four measures or
funding lines. The funds awarded to The Bridge Partnership will
be allocated under Measure 3.1 ‘Local Economic Initiatives
for Developing the Social Economy’ and Measure 3.2 ‘Locally-based
