Prior to the formal establishment of Banbridge District Local Strategy Partnership Limited, Banbridge District Shadow Local Strategy Partnership held its inaugural meeting to formally introduce its members and to discuss membership composition, administration costs, availability of information, the establishment of a Service Level Agreement with Banbridge District Council, legal issues, training and meeting arrangements for members and the preparation of its Integrated Local Strategy. |

| The members of Banbridge District Local Strategy Partnership Limited came together for a two-day residential course in Newcastle to finalise its draft Integrated Local Strategy for the Banbridge District and to discuss the way forward. On the first day, members were introduced to the concept of partnership working and its critical success factors. After taking part in a getting to know you exercise, they were informed about the Community Support Framework 2000-2006 Business Plan for Northern Ireland and how this inter-linked with the EU’s Peace II Programme. They were also given a detailed overview of this Programme particularly Measures 3.1 and 3.2 under which they would be seeking funding from the Special EU Programmes Body. | |

| On the second day of the Partnership’s two-day residential course, members reconvened to discuss legal and management structures and to adopt its draft Integrated Local Strategy following some amendments. Members were split into two workshop groups to discuss the legal and ground rules for the Partnership. An information session on the Special EU Programmes Body’s guidelines took place followed by discussion on Measures 3.1 and 3.2. Proposed Action Plans were drawn up for each Measure and it was agreed to set up action teams for each Action Plan. | |
