Glenn Houston
was appointed to the role of Chief Executive of Craigavon and Banbridge
Community HSS Trust in May 2004.
Glenn has spent his career to date working in Health and Personal
Social Services within Northern Ireland. His first appointment was
as a social worker in North Down and Ards, in 1980. He continued
working in the Eastern Board between 1983 and 1996, in both Down
& Lisburn and North & West Belfast Trusts. He has had various
responsibilities including management of community and hospital
services for older people and people with disabilities.
In 1996, Glenn was appointed Director of Planning and Information
in Homefirst Community Trust, a position he held for 6 years and
in 2002, he became the Director of Mental Health Services, playing
a key role in securing additional investment for services in that
locality.
Glenn has extensive experience of working with voluntary and community
groups and has a strong interest in finding practical solutions
to the challenges facing the health service in Northern Ireland.
Glenn is a member of the Institute of Healthcare Management and
has been a member of the Belfast Charitable Society since 1996.
His interests include travel, hill walking and music (listening
not playing!).
